PROFESSOR REVIEW INTRODUCTION
By now you should have written, revised, personally reviewed and
revised, had a peer review your work, and revised your paper again. The
paper should be in its final form. To insure that the writing is done,
the instructor will
review the work. If there are problems, comments will be made based on
the
grading criteria below. Because this paper should really be done, 30%
of
your grade will depend on its quality. If for some reason a problem
remains,
you still have one more opportunity to rewrite. The score on the final
paper
will count for 40% of the course points. This weight emphasizes the
general
philosophy of this course which is that writing is a process that
includes
rewriting. I hope you continue to write and rewrite your papers in
college
as a matter of habit and pride. If you write professional-quality
papers
in college, the experience you gain will pay off in your work with
improved
chances for rapid advancement.
Instructor's Grading Criteria
(Points
below add to 100 and represent percent of 40 points)
Assignment:
Turn in your paper with page numbers in a two
pocket folder. Please put your first draft in one pocket and this draft
in the other.
This paper will be worth 30% of your grade. I will be looking at format
as
well as content and writing. The paper must be typed. The paper
is
due by 5:00 outside the instructor's office.
Questions:
The instructor will be available to discuss problems you are having
with your paper during class time. That way you can resolve
issues before the due time today.
Grade:
1% for attendance; 30 % for paper. Points will be deducted at a
rate related to the quality of the paper.
