Document Compare

Introduction

Rewriting is an important part of the writing process.  This unit encourages begining with the rewriting early.  Your instructor is interested in monitoring rewriting progress.  The document compare function on your word processor is one way of monitoring progress, and helps you learn a useful word processor function.   

Goal

Encourage  rewriting.
Provide time for one-on-one discussions of the rewriting process
Train students to use document compare

Objectives

Teach students to use the document compare function on Word or Word Perfect
Use peer review to help with rewriting
Provide time to discuss rewriting of specific passages
Train Document Compare on the computer.  General procedure is outlined next.

        Tools, Compare and Merge Documents
    Word Perfect
        File, Document, Compare
Then of course you have to make decisions regarding files to compare, and even methods of comparison.
