Description
Identification, properties, occurrence, and associations of the rock-forming
minerals; introduction to crystallography (crystal classes, lattice types, and
external morphology) and crystal chemistry (bonding and crystal structure types);
analytical techniques including mineral optics, x-ray, and SEM analysis.
Prerequisites: ESCI 111, CHEM 132.
